Please keep in mind, all of the people you see actively doing something at the meetings, are volunteers. The long term success of our group is due to people like Al donating his time to the benefit of the group. The majority of Macintosh users are a sharing type of people. Al doesn't claim to be a established nationwide expert on the Internet, but he DID volunteer to chair the special interest group. You'll get a good feeling if you pitch in too.
